Perton Walkers next ramble is on Sunday August 15th
when we offer a pleasant stroll in the countryside north of Brewood. This will
be the forth time we have done a route from Brewood and the third time we use
The Bridge Inn.
If you require a lift from Perton or are willing to offer
others a lift please meet at the usual time 10 30am on Perton Civic Centre car
park or
The Bridge Inn at Brewood. From the cross roads in the centre of Brewood go left to take the turning west signed Bishops Wood and Kiddemore Green. At the edge of the village the road goes over the canal- the pub and car park entrance are on the right immediately before the canal bridge. Mine host has kindly agreed to make available the usual facilities (loos) before the walk and the opportunity to order your lunch!
This walk of 5.6kl/3.5 miles is taken from a booklet titled Twelve Circular Walks Around Codsall and Brewood by A. C Evans and published in 1996. To state the obvious Perton Walkers start from the pub not the public car park specified in the write-up. Also the end of the walk has been amended/improved to include “extra” paths through a former quarry in Brewood currently being made into a country park come nature reserve.
